BBC Celebrity Masterchef fans were left reeling this evening when they took stock of John Torode’s dramatic hair transformation over the years.
Joining his co-host Gregg Wallace – who famously has no hair whatsoever – John looked back at the past two decades of episodes of the hit celebrity cooking show.
Despite the range of showbiz faces on show, it was John’s hair that truly caught viewers’ attention, as they expressed their surprise over his changing barnet.
In early episodes of Celeb Masterchef, John could be seen rocking a short back and sides, tinted in a shade of glossy dark brown.
However, when the series flipped to 2020 footage, John had transformed into a silver fox, his floppy hair falling to his shoulders in grey waves.

Taking to Twitter, viewers debated John’s hair makeover, pondering which look had been their favourite over the years.
One said: “Watching #celebritymasterchef as they look back on the last 15 years but can’t take my eyes off @JohnTorode1 hairstyles – what was going on there !!”
A second added: “I had no idea John Torode has had so many hairstyles! Poor Gregg Wallace has had 2 – a bit of hair and no hair!”

“I wasn’t prepared for Torode hair,” chimed a third.
And a fourth chipped in: “I can’t deal with John’s hair.”
Tonight’s episode was the second of a six part series, looking back at the most memorable cooking highs and lows of the past 15 years.
Gemma Collins, Vicky Pattison and Michelle Mone made an appearance, as Gregg and John mused over their performances in the kitchen.

Reflecting on Gemma’s culinary skills, John swiped: “Gemma might have been short in knowledge but definitely not in confidence.”
He spoke more highly of Geordie Shore star Vicky, remarking: “That passion that was ignited in Vicky got her all the way to the final.”
However, the scene that truly took the cake was Janet Street Porter’s 2013 meltdown with Corrie star Brian Capron.
Instructed to make a swish dessert, Janet fumed: “Does this mean anything? I thought this was a secret symbol or something.
“We’ve definitely been given the hardest course. That represents everything I hate in culinary terms.”
