Olly Murs pays tribute to Caroline Flack on what would have been her birthday

Pop star Olly Murs has paid a touching tribute to Caroline Flack on what would have been her 41st birthday.

The television presenter tragically took her own life on February 15 in the run up to her trial for the alleged assault by beating of her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Caroline had pleaded not guilty to assault by beating at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court in North London on December 23 and was due to go on trial at March 4 this year.

She died a day after she had been told that the CPS were pursuing the court case against her following an arrest at her home in December.

Caroline’s close friend Olly, 36, took to his official Instagram account on Monday to remember the former Love Island host.

The pair were great friends and worked together while hosting The X factor and The Xtra Factor.

Olly posted a sweet behind-the-scenes selfie of he and Caroline puling funny faces while the cameras weren’t rolling to mark her birthday.

The singer penned alongside the snap: “Happy birthday Cazza! “I do wonder most days what tik tok dance I’d see you doing, what Disney song you’d be singing too or what random what’s app message I’d get from ya but instead I sit here remembering the memories we shared, and that infectious laugh you had x miss ya.”

The singer’s emotional Instagram grid update was flooded with supportive messages from his adoring fans.

One fan penned: “Oh Olly it still hurts. So sad but hold onto the great memories you have xx”

Another added: “Sending lots of love.”

While a third person posted: “Big love. She loved you so much, you were an ace pair x”

A fourth follower said: “Thinking of you and all who love her today.”

“Forever my fav duo. Sending lots of love Murs,” said a fifth fan.

Caroline’s manager Nathan Smith also shared some beautiful videos and images of the star online as he remembered her fondly.

Nathan posted a picture of Caroline cuddling her beloved dog Ruby and wrote: “Hiiiiiii Happy heavenly 41st birthday. Love and miss you.”

He also shared video of Caroline putting on lipgoss behind the scenes as she flashed Nathan a big smile, with her favourite song, Rupert Holmes’ Escape (The Piña Colada Song).

Nathan also shared a backstage moment of Caroline before she was due to perform her final Chicago show on the West End.

The agent is thought to have begun representing Caroline in 2017 and they developed a a close friendship over the years.
