Kate Ferdinand doesn't want another baby as traumatic birth 'aged her a decade'

Kate Ferdinand has admitted that the difficult birth of her first son Cree has put her off having more children with her husband Rio.

Kate, 29, revealed that thought of adding to the family makes her feel “anxious” after she went through life-saving surgery following Cree’s birth.

Talking to Daily Mail, Kate said: “If you ask me right now I would say never ever again. Our house is very hectic as it is.

“We have four kids and two dogs, it’s a madhouse. The thought of having another one makes me slightly anxious.

“I’m only 29 but I feel 39 at the moment! But you never know, I might feel different in a few years.”

Kate is also step-mum to three children, Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine, from Rio’s marriage to late wife Rebecca, so she certainly has her hands full with a new addition.

The new mum has been very honest about becoming a mother with her fans, telling her fans that she was constantly crying and couldn’t lift her son up.

She also said that Rio, 42, had been very supportive of her with looking after the baby, saying: “Rio’s been really good. Because I had the emergency C-section it was really unexpected and Rio and the kids have helped me so much, so I can’t fault them in any way.

“Although he does seem to have escaped the pooey nappies, I’m not sure how he’s managed that, to time it so right that they always happen with me.”

Kate’s family have been been a huge rock for her as she struggled with parenting Cree after the difficult birth, with her step-daughter Tia writing her a sweet note after realising she was upset.

As Kate struggled with her hormones and Cree crying, she found a message under her door which read: “Pls stop crying. I love u.” [sic]

Kate shared it on her Instagram, writing: “Just when I thought the screaming baby would drown out the sound of my tears, I get this through the door as if I wasn’t emotional enough.

“To new mums, mums, step mums … and anyone who is struggling in lockdown, I feel you! Sometimes we just need to sneak in our room and have a little cry … even then, because of lockdown, we may have lots of little ears listening in.

“A mix of the new baby, lockdown, kids at home and lack of sleep have well and truly got me. I feel like I’m a robot going through the same routine daily, feed baby, wind baby, wait for him to wake and repeat.”
