Married At First Sight star Dan Webb charged with fraud over 'investment scam'

Married At First Sight Australia’s Dan Webb has appeared in court charged with fraud over a multi-million dollar telemarketing scam.

It is alleged the reality star and ten others were involved in the alleged scam eight years ago.

It is also reported that some of the alleged participants face charges of money laundering, New Zealand new outlet Stuff claims.

The publication claim police began investigating the alleged cold-calling scheme in 2013.

The committal hearing began at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday and is expected to last three weeks.

The prosecution claims the scam raked in around $24million.

The 36-year-old rose to fame on the wild TV experiment, which sees total strangers marry as the cameras follow the fall out.

The show was first filmed Down Under in 2018 but is only airing in the UK now.

He married Tamara Joy, 29, on the popular programme which is watched by millions all over the world.
