Actress Michelle Keegan has hit back at claims that her months spent away from home while filming Our Girl sparked trouble in her marriage to Mark Wright.
Talking to You magazine, Michelle, 33, denied the rumours that her marriage to former reality star Mark was strained while she was working in South Africa and Malaysia.
She said: “Going away for work is never seen as a good thing, only as a negative, and I don’t understand that.
“Are you seriously supposed to turn down work in case it impacts your marriage?”
Michelle also opened up about why her and Mark are now much more private about their lives now, saying that at the time of their wedding, they were in “every newspaper and magazine every week”.

She said: “I was trying to make my way in different dramas and felt like I didn’t want to be talking about my private life any more.”
“So I just pulled it back. It’s nice to have something just for us, for our families and friends, and these days that’s the way it is.”
Michelle also discussed her time stripping off for lads’ magazines, saying that she didn’t regret posing for them but wishes that she had done them “more tastefully”.

She added that now she is a bit older, she has learned that she can “be in control more”.
Mark and Michelle are currently living in Essex, but are in the middle of building their dream home.
They were recently granted planning permission to add a gym, bar, and an outdoor swimming pool to their huge property.
The showbiz couple are demolishing the £1.3million farmhouse to construct a five-bedroom property.
They tied the knot in 2015, and Michelle has recently shared her annoyance at being asked about when they plan to extend their family.
She told Women’s Health: “I do think it’s different for a woman. It shouldn’t be, but it is.
“Why haven’t I had a child? When am I going to have a child? I don’t know what they want me to say. I don’t know what the right or wrong answer is.”
