Piers Morgan predicted he would be “publicly cancelled” when he began writing his book in 2019.
The 55-year-old controversial journalist lost his job at Good Morning Britain after he refused to apologise for his constant criticism of the Duchess of Sussex.
Piers said he “didn’t believe a word” that Meghan Markle said during her interview with Oprah Winfrey after she bravely opened up about feeling suicidal.
He wouldn’t accept Meghan’s claims and his controversial comments on GMB attracted 41,000 complaints to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom.
The backlash Piers received led to him leaving Good Morning Britain and it seems the host predicted he would be “cancelled” years before his departure from the ITV show.

In his book Wake Up, Piers wrote: “When I first began writing this book in late 2019, I assumed it would lead to me being publicly ‘cancelled’ the moment it was published.”
Morgan continued that he thought he would be “shamed, vilified, mocked, abused, bullied and no-platformed”, after it was published.
He added: “My book signings would be met with protests, possibly even threats of violence, and my media appearances to promote the book would be weirdly contentious.”

It comes after Piers was predicted to make a “turbocharged” return to television with a new show and more newspaper columns after his GMB departure.
PR expert Mark Borkowski has insisted Piers will be back bigger and more successful than ever after he sensationally left GMB.
Piers himself has said he is only in “temporary hibernation” – and it seems Mark is certain the opinionated TV star is preparing for a huge return.

“People think the juggernaut has been neutered, but quite the opposite,” he said in an article titled “The Marmite man will certainly be back.
“It’s been turbocharged.”
He wrote: “Piers has the confidence of his opinions, and ultimately, he knows that when people tell you to apologise, or you’re out, you have to have the confidence to walk.
“If I were his agent right now (and I’m not), I would be a very happy man.”
ITV announced several weeks ago that Piers has decided to leave his role on Good Morning Britain after over five years as an anchor on the breakfast show.
The official statement read: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.
“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
