Amber Heard has become a mother after welcoming a baby girl, she has revealed.
It is believed she welcomed the baby via surrogate, as she did not appear pregnant when she was photographed out and about in recent months.
The 35-year-old Hollywood star took to Instagram on Thursday evening with an adorable photo of her with her new daughter on her chest, sound asleep.
The new mum explained that her daughter was born on April 8, 2021 and is called Oonagh Paige Heard.
She told her 3.9million followers: “I’m so excited to share this news with you.
“Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms.”
The Aquaman star went on: “I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.
“I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalised to not want a ring in order to have a crib.
“A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this.”
After sharing the newborn’s name and date of birth, Amber added: “She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”
The baby takes her middle name from Amber’s late mother Paige.
Friends flocked to the comments section – which had been limited – to share their love, with many simply leaving colourful heart emojis.
One person wrote: “We love her so much already.”

Another said: “You are an inspiration. A marvel and born to be a mother!”
A source reportedly confirmed that Amber welcomed her baby via surrogate to Page Six, saying: “She’s so grateful to the wonderful woman who helped bring Oonagh into her life.”
The source added: “There are so many women who feel they can’t talk about their fertility and are worried and embarrassed; Amber wants them to feel supported and realise that there are a multitude of ways to have a baby even if you have fertility issues.”
Amber’s happy news comes after she split up with husband Johnny Depp in 2016, and accused him of physical abuse, which he continues to deny.
Their divorce was finalised in 2017.
Most recently, Amber has been linked to cinematographer Bianca Butti, after they were first seen kissing outside a hotel in California in January 2020.
They went on a Valentine’s Day trip together in February of this year, and were seen returning to Los Angeles airport together.
