Rylan Clark-Neal returned to social media to celebrate his nephew Harvey’s 21st birthday, just weeks after he announced his split from his husband Dan.
This Morning presenter Rylan, 32, shared a sweet snap of him and Harvey alongside a photo of an impressive birthday cake, with a caption that read: “Happy 21st birthday weekend, Harvey. Can’t believe my little nephew is not so little anymore!”
It comes just a few days after Rylan revealed he was taking some time out to focus on his mental health and was looking to get back to business doing the jobs he loves following his split from husband Dan.
Posting on Instagram to give an update to his 1.4 million followers on Friday, he thanked fans for their ongoing love and support during a tough time in his personal life amid his split from his husband of almost six years.
He penned: “I just wanted to write a message to thank you all for the love and kindness you have shown us.
“We are currently prioritising our mental health and looking after the ones around us we love the most. I am working towards getting back to the jobs I love in due course. Thank you for being patient with me X”
It follows reports Rylan and Dan Neal had decided to split from each other nearly six years after they got married back in November 2015.
Last month, Rylan broke his silence on the separation and announced he was seeking help in a statement – where he also admitted to making a series of mistakes which he ‘deeply regrets’.
He said: “Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair.
“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage. I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.”
The Big Brother star, who met Dan in the Big Brother house, went on to say that he is trying to take each day as it comes and thanked his fans for their support and respecting him and Dan’s privacy.
His fans has become increasingly worried about Rylan’s welfare over the last few weeks when he disappeared from social media and took a seven-week break from hosting his Saturday afternoon Radio 2 show.
Sources told the MailOnline the split has occurred because the pair “couldn’t resolve their differences” in life.
Other insiders have cited Rylan’s desire to have children despite loving being a step-dad to Dan’s son Cameron – with one saying: “Rylan loved being a step-dad and was wonderful but it just couldn’t fill the gap he felt for wanting his own children”.
Rylan has made his intentions of becoming a dad very clear in the public eye, and in 2019 he confessed: “I have a 19-year-old stepson already – Cameron – and he’s amazing. I want to be a dad, I’d love it to happen, it’s when and how.”
BBC bosses also looked forward to welcoming Rylan back to his Radio 2 show, telling MailOnline: “Rylan is taking a few week’s break and we look forward to him returning to Radio 2 in due course.”
