Kym Marsh's disappearance from Morning Live explained as fans worry where she is

Kym Marsh’s apparent disappearance from Morning Live has finally been explained, after fans wondered where she had gone.

The former Coronation Street star, 45, had been hosting the BBC show alongside Gethin Jones since September 2020.

But since June 28, the actress turned host has been missing and has been replaced by former Strictly Come Dancing pro Janette Manrara.

Viewers began to wonder where she was, asking on Twitter as they tuned in to the morning show.

One said: “Does anyone know where Kym Marsh is?”

A second asked: “Where is Kym?” even tagging Kym’s official account too.

While a third begged: “Bring back Kym ASAP!”

Now, a BBC spokesperson has confirmed the reason for Kym’s absence, telling the Express: “Kym has taken some time off to spend time with her family.”

Janette, 37, has been standing in for Kym since July 5, and she will later take over at the helm of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two after stepping down as a pro this year.

Kym took some time off Morning Live in July when her son David tested positive for Covid, as he still lives at home.

Because of that and the government guidelines, Kym was forced to stay at home and isolate too.

Unfortunately, Kym came down with Covid too.

The show isn’t on-screen all the time, as it airs in three-week intervals.

Because of that, viewers hadn’t initially realised just how long Kym had been away from the show.

It’s been a tough time recently for the former Michelle Connor star, after she revealed her dad Dave, 76, had been told he has incurable prostate cancer.

He had delayed going to the doctors because of the pandemic and was later told the devastating news that the cancer had spread to his pelvis, spine, ribs and left leg.

The sad news came just days after Kym announced she was engaged to her partner Scott Ratcliff after he got down on one knee on her 45th birthday.

Her dad Dave told The Sun after his cancer diagnosis: “My biggest hope is the treatment keeps working and gives me more time with my family. I want to be fit and well enough to walk Kym down the aisle after she recently got engaged.

“It’s something to look forward to and making sure I’m there means the world to me.

“I’ve been very lucky because I have a wonderful family who support me, and that’s a huge help.”

Morning Live airs at 9.15am on weekdays on BBC One
