Lorraine Kelly has revealed she had a miscarriage with her loving husband and cameraman Steve Smith in the early days of their relationship.
The 61-year-old welcomed Myleene Klass onto the couch on Wednesday morning as she opened up about her struggles with fertility ahead of her vulnerable documentary, Miscarriage & Me.
And as the chart-topper explained the devastating effects of having four miscarriages throughout her relationship with Simon Motson, the loveable Scot shared her own struggles with miscarriages.
Lorraine admitted that her miscarriage happened during her early thirties just six years before the pair welcomed their first child Rosie in 1994.

As the pair discussed the sensitive topic at length, Lorraine shared her traumatic experience dealing with the loss of a baby on the show.
She told viewers: “I remember at the time, gosh it was over 20 years ago, that it happened to me, but I think people were trying to reassure me and say, ‘Oh, this is very common and this happened to one in three women’.”
Shocked that the TV presenter went through a similar experience to her, Myleene questioned: “It’s happened to you?”

To which she replied: “Yeah, yeah and when people were trying to make me feel better, they were actually making me feel worse.
“It was a long time ago Myleene, but it’s still hard even after 27 years, you think, ‘Oh that baby would have been 21’ or in your aunties case 27.
“You’re sort of mourning for something that didn’t happen and that’s very sad to do,” she confessed.

One of the ways that Lorraine managed to get through that dark period in her life was through the support of others as she received cards and letters from her loyal legion of fans.
She added: “It’s interesting that you were saying people were getting in touch with you, back when it happened to me it was through letters and cards and people sharing their stories, and I found that a real comfort actually.”
