Cher Lloyd says 'goodbye' and is left devastated after her dog dies aged nine

X Factor contestant Cher Lloyd took to her Instagram this week to announce that her nine year old French bulldog Buddy passed away earlier this week.

The star has been left ‘absolutely devastated’ since mourning the loss of her dog.

She posted a series of photos to Instagram of her pooch alongside a sweet tribute saying that he was the ‘best boy’.

Cher captioned the post: “Yesterday we said goodbye to Buddy.

“Our hearts are absolutely broken. You were such a good boy Bud, the best boy. Over 9 years of love, we will miss you and remember you forever.”

She finished off the post with a photo of her daughter hugging Buddy and a picture of a paw print.

Fans and celebrities rushed to Cher’s support in the comments.

Michelle Visage penned: “I’m so sorry,” as TOWIE star Bobby Norris said: “I’m so sorry, sending my love.”

Fellow X Factor star Katie Waissel said: “I’m so sorry, thinking of you xx.”

Cher first found fame on the hit singing show in 2010 when she was just 16 as she reached the live finals and smashed her way onto the top of the charts with her debut single in 2011.

She told The Sun that during her career she was asked to date another star to boost her profile further.

She said: “They gave me a few suggestions but it was just a crazy thing to ask.

“Sadly it still happens. That’s still happening in this day and age, that it’s still okay to try to make a young girl do something like that to boost a career.

“I am never going to be that girl, I was never going to be that girl. I write music, I release music and I don’t have the hidden agendas.

“It’s not my thing to do a publicity stunt, it’s messy, plus I was married.”

Cher got married to hairdresser Craig Monk and the pair share daughter Delilah-Rae.

She added: “I’ve been married for nearly seven years and I love him. OK yeah, he is a normal guy, whatever you want to call normal, but you can’t help who you fall for.

“I’m sorry to big music heads that I didn’t marry a very successful celebrity to make money for them.”
