It’s a long way from Weatherfield to Paris, but hunky actor Lucien Laviscount has made the leap.
The ex-Coronation Street star has landed the role of the love interest for Lily Collins’ character in Netflix series Emily in Paris.
Lucien, 29, was born in Lancashire’s Ribble Valley and worked his way up in well loved British shows, getting his first break in 2007 as Jake Briggs in the BBC’s much missed Grange Hill.
He then joined Corrie in 2009 as Sophie Webster’s boyfriend Ben Richardson.
He then returned to the BBC where he played Waterloo Road’s love-struck schoolboy Jonah Kirby.
Emily in Paris was a big hit for Netflix last year, and season two has been craftily timed to land in time for Christmas – December 22, to be exact.
Lucien now looks very different from his days on British TV. The dedicated gym goer posts shirtless selfies on Instagram where he proudly shows off the results of his hard work.
The muscly actor has a six-pack and often sports some stubble.
A shirtless Instagram post of Lucien’s in February earned him some positive feedback from his famous mates.
Musician Example wrote: “Damn bro. Didn’t know I had these feels.”
“Dreamboat,” wrote rugby’s James Haskell.
JLS’s Aston Merrygold said: “Haaa.. tell people u go gym without telling people u go gym.”
Meanwhile, the new Emily in Paris trailer shows Emily (Lily Collins) discussing her complicated life, while still looking impossibly chic. Lucien appears several times in the trailer and although he doesn’t speak, his character looks very cosy with Emily.
Corrie fans will recall that Lucien’s character formed part of a teen quad with Sophiw Webster (Brooke Vincent), Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) and Ryan Connor (then played by Ben Thompson).
His storylines included coming on to Ryan’s mum Michelle (Kym Marsh).
On Waterloo Road his character Jonah also had a thing for older women. This time it was his teacher, Miss Montoya (Karen Shenaz David), and the pair embarked on a highly inappropriate affair before running away to get married.
Lucien also made it to the final of Celebrity Big Brother in 2011, appearing alongside Kerry Katona, Jedward and Amy Childs.
The ambitious actor then moved to LA where he landed roles on shows including Scream Queens, Snatch and Katy Keene.
