Alesha Dixon admits daughter thinks she’s a 'terrible' dancer on The One Show

Alesha Dixon has revealed that her eight-year-old daughter Azure Sienna thinks she’s a terrible dancer as she shared a glimpse into her private life on The One Show.

The star is rather busy at the moment, judging ITV’s Walk the Line while making various other TV appearances.

When asked by presenter Sam Quek about a recent night out, the presenter asked Alesha, 43, “So you went out last night and you were an embarrassing mum?”

“I wouldn’t say embarrassing,” replied Alesha.

Sam responded: “Well I wouldn’t – I think you’re uber cool. What was the reaction of your daughter?”

The former Mis-Teeq rapper explained: “She’s so funny. No, basically every time I get up and try and dance she just pushes me back down into my chair.

“She doesn’t like it because her dad and I think we’re really good dancers and she’s like, ‘No you’re not, sit down!'”

The Britain’s Got Talent Judge shares two children with her second husband Azuka Ononye, who she met while he performed as a dancer on her tour.

Her prior, short-lived, union with MC Harvery ended after just a year and a half.

Alesha was also asked about her new judging role on Simon Cowell’s latest ITV talent show Walk The Line.

She said: “Simon told me about the format quite a while ago and I loved it. At the end of the day it’s about discovering new talent but with a game show twist.

“It’s really short. we’re on every night for six nights and it could change someone’s life. At the same time you’re discovering new talent, brilliant artists and its good fun! It’s what we need right now.”

Having acted as a judge on other talent shows, host Jermain Jenas asked the star how Walk the Line differs from other popular formats as she’s “been involved in quite a few of them.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing winner explained: “The main way I would describe it as being different is a lot of shows in the past it’s about going on that journey – there’s different rounds, there’s different stages to the competition and the audience goes on this long journey with them.

“Whereas Walk The Line they’ve literally got one night and one song to make an impact and to get the audience votes which is very hard to do.”

Show host Maya Jama recently revealed how she was thrilled to be working alongside Alesha Dixon on the new TV talent show because she used to imitate her as a teen.

The TV beauty revealed she learned all of the raps Alesha performed in girl band Mis-Teeq and would even mimic her on-stage moves.
