Piers previously opened up about his unusual symptoms as he gave fans an insight into his life with Covid-19.
Shortly after his positive test, he wrote: “A new treat – aside from ongoing tedious fatigue and inability to taste wine, all the coughing’s caused a ‘posterior vitreous detachment’ in my left eye.
“I’m now seeing weird ghostly cobwebs swimming around. It really is the virus that keeps on giving.”
The famous TV presenter first explained how he felt when he contracted Covid-19 just after the Euro 2020 game at Wembley as he recalled a “horrible night of high fever, cold sweats, ferocious coughing and sneezing and strange aches”, in his column for Daily Mail.
In the same column, Piers recalled that the event felt safe and Covid compliant as everyone was fully vaccinated or showed a negative LFT, but things soon took a turn.
He said: “Until the final when 1000s of drunken morons crashed their way in with no tickets or testing – and probably turned into a huge super spreader event.”
Piers has actively reminded people about the realities of Covid-19 since the pandemic began in 2020, with him often holding MPs to account on Good Morning Britain.
