Mark Wright branded 'superhero' after saving Jamie Laing's life in bus near-miss horror

Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing has revealed how he’ll always be grateful to his friend Mark Wright for saving his life.

It’s emerged that the former TOWIE star yanked Jamie out of the way of an oncoming double-decker bus during a drinking session in London about a decade ago.

Mark, 34, left Jamie’s BBC Sounds show 6 Degrees’ co-host Spencer Matthews, 33, a voice-note explaining how it was a matter of inches between life and death.

He said: “I’m just your normal bloke who’s your pal, who also saved Jamie Laing’s life in front of you. Should be him voice-noting me every morning saying ‘thank you, merry Christmas Mark Wright, I love you.

Jamie owes Mark his life

“And you were there to witness it, Spencer. And yes, Jamie I will keep reminding you about this for the rest of your life.

“All I can see is that red double-decker bus. As Al Pacino said, life is about inches. One inch the other way you were splattered across the front of that bus like one of those teddy bears lorry drivers stick on the front.

“But the Wright-ster, not super-star, superhero, stopped that happening.”

Mark is a hero

Jamie, 33, confirmed the tale was true and said he was full of gratitude for his pal’s quick actions.

Meanwhile, Jamie’s fiancee Sophie Habboo has been rushed to hospital and put on a drip.

Sophie, 28, was pictured getting treated on Monday 20 December, with Jamie by her side.

Despite being in hospital, Sophie remembered to wear her personalised hat, which reads “Mrs Laing-to-be.”

Sharing a picture of Sophie in hospital, former Strictly Come dancing star Jamie said: “Not so well little thing, but still wearing the hat.”

Jamie beamed as Spencer played Mark’s message

He later updated fans saying: “To everyone who sent sweet messages, Sophie is all OK.”

The hospital visit came just days after Sophie flashed her enormous diamond ring for the first time since getting engaged to the multi-millionaire.

She said yes when former Made in Chelsea ladies’ man, 33, popped the question on Friday night.
