Robert Wall, who was famously an actor and martial arts master, has died at the age of 82.
The death of the actor who appeared alongside Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee was confirmed by his family in an official statement to TMZ.
The statement read: “Bob was the greatest husband and father. Family was everything to him. He lived a remarkable life and there is a hole in our hearts that will never be filled.
“His spirit and legacy will live on forever within us. He was our rock.”
No official cause of death has been confirmed for the actor.
He was a 9th degree Tang Soo Do black belt under Norris and the men trained together for many years and were business partners.
Aside from his success as a martial arts master, he also played multiple roles on the silver screen with acting credits in 1972 film Way of the Dragon and 1973 film Enter the Dragon, both starring Bruce Lee.
The film famously featured an impressive fight seen, with the revelation coming out years later that Robert actually broke Bruce Lee’s ribs.
Robert previously revealed that Bruce had wanted it to look as authentic as possible, so the professionals put their all into it.
Rob recalled how Bruce said to him after he broke his ribs: “Bob, I wanna hit you, and I wanna hit you hard.”
He later confessed that the scene saw them fall on real glass to add to the authenticity – and the challenging scene was filmed five or six times.
Enter the Dragon became one of the most famous martial arts movies of all time, with Robert playing the role of villain O’Hara.
He also starred in films including Game of Death, Code of Silence, Firewalker and Hero and the Terror.
Robert was a champion in Karate, winning the US professional Karate Championship in 1970 and was the co-founder of Black Belt Inc.
Tributes poured in for him online, with one person writing: “RIP to the legendary Bob Wall who passed away at the age of 82.”
Another said: “RIP to Tang Soo Do master Robert Wall. He acted with the great Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon and Way of the Dragon. Sad day.”
