Tipping Point fans were left ‘unable to cope’ with one player’s hilarious alphabet blunder during the latest episode.
Friday’s show saw contestant Anne make a grave literacy error when she suggested that B came after J in the alphabet.
Competing against her fellow players in the first penalty round of the day, Anne was asked: “In the NATO phonetic alphabet, what word comes in between Juliet and Lima?”
Rather than opting for a word beginning with K, Anne answered “Bravo.”
Informing Anne that she was incorrect, Tipping Point host Ben Shephard said: “No. Kilo. K.”
He added: “J, K, L is the alphabet, isn’t it? Not Bravo.”
While Anne was locked out of the round as a result of her error, Tipping Point viewers took to Twitter to share their disbelief that she had gotten the alphabet so wrong.
One viewer wrote: “I CAN’T COPE. BRAVO.”
Another said: “Juliet Bravo. Genuine LOL moment,” while a third viewer added: “Bravo?! Between Juliet and Lima?”
A fourth viewer commented: “Good to see the standard of contestants is back to normal after the show of some intelligence yesterday.”
Another sarcastically replied: “What letter comes between J and L? Obviously it’s B. All day long. Put it there. Kapow!”
“Yes, ‘B’ comes before ‘L’ doesn’t it?” A final viewer concluded.
Despite her error, Anne survived the first round of the episode, with Alan the first contestant to be ejected.
She wasn’t so fortunate in the second round of the show, however, as she became the second player to leave.
Following her exit, she said: “Thank you. It’s been fabulous.”
Anne’s departure meant that contestants Rachel and Dave were left to go head-to-head, with Rachel venturing on to the final round alone.
She ended up taking the money rather than the trade, going home with £2,350.
Tipping Point airs from 4pm on weekdays on ITV.
