Phillip Schofield admits he turned to booze as he was forced to miss Dancing On Ice

Phillip Schofield confessed he had a few glasses of gin and tonic to get over his “FOMO” of missing last weekend’s Dancing On Ice (February 6) due to testing positive for Covid.

The ITV favourite revealed to fans that he had tested positive for the virus so was forced to miss a week of the show, with Stephen Mulhern stepping in to host with Holly Willoughby.

But he was back on the show this week (February 13), hosting alongside his best pal Holly, who dazzled fans in a princess pink gown.

As Holly welcomed Phil back to the show, he admitted he had “FOMO” – the fear of missing out – as he was forced to watch from home.

And he laughed as he told Holly he’d had a few gin and tonics to try and ease his sadness, with Holly giggling along too.

Holly said: “Welcome to the greatest show on ice, we’ve got lots on the way for you tonight and welcome back Phil!”

Phil said: “Thank you, I missed it last week. I had serious FOMO, let me tell you. Made better by four or five gin and tonics.”

Holly laughed: “Always helps.”

As Phil went on: “Well done to Stephen Mulhern as well, fantastic… you’re welcome.”

Phil missed more than just Dancing On Ice, as he was unable to present This Morning as well.

But he finished his isolation earlier this week, meaning he was able to return to his day job.

He got a negative result on Monday, then another on Tuesday, meaning he could leave his isolation after seven days.

Phil posted a picture of a test on Tuesday, writing in the caption: “It’s official! Two days negative… I’m free.”

At the moment, government guidelines require people to self-isolate for 10 days if they test positive.

However people can start taking tests after five full days, and finish isolation early if they test negative two days in a row.
