The Chase sees tons of contestants walk through its doors, but sometimes the players steal the show without even trying.
Monday’s episode (April 4) saw four new quiz hopefuls step into the ITV studio – Laura, Dave, Seok and John.
The team were all hoping to outrun genius Chaser Anne Hegerty, also known as The Governess, in the hopes of bagging a hefty cash prize to take home.
However, one contestant made quite the impression of some viewers as they thought he looked a lot like famous comedian Joe Pasquale who won the fourth series of I’m A Celebrity in 2004.
The eagle-eyed viewers couldn’t help talking about the player on Twitter during the show.
One wrote: “Bl**dy hell it’s Joe Pasquale”.
A second said: “Joe Pasquale???”, to which another fan agreed as they posted a snap of Hollywood legend Meryl Streep pointing in shock.
A fourth agreed: “He reminds me a bit of Joe Pasquale”
The upbeat contestant even displayed some comedy skills just like Joe, because he had host Bradley Walsh in stitches during the episode.
Dave had gotten off to an impressive start as he racked up £6,000 in his cash builder round, and he boldly decided to take Anne’s high offer of £64,000.
However, he soon got caught out and came to regret his decision, telling Bradley he was “gutted”.
Bradley said: “Early, exit, early exit. Any regrets?”, to which Dave replied: “Oh god, yeah.”
The host couldn’t help giggling at the player’s honest response, and even Anne cracked a smile, breaking from her Chaser character.
Dave said: “Not gonna lie to you! Absolutely.”
Bradley said: “But to be fair, you had a go. You know what I’m saying though, David? If you’d not gone for the 36 [grand], you’d gone for the 6, you’d be behind now anyway, all the way home again so it’s a long run home.”
Dave’s teammates Laura and Seok were knocked out too, which meant it was just John who faced The Governess in the final.
However, she caught him out, which meant the team walked away empty-handed.
