Kim Kardashian speaks to Kanye on daily basis and says he 'will always be family'

Kim Kardashian has insisted that Kanye West will “always be family” following their bitter divorce.

The SKIMS founder, 41, opened up about what it was like co-parenting the four children she shares with the rapper.

Sitting down to discuss her new life with Robin René Roberts on Good Morning America, she said that she works very hard to maintain a healthy and civil relationship with her ex-husband Ye, 44.

Despite all their public drama, she vowed always to champion her ex – who she shares children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm with.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021, and was declared legally single last month.

Discussing her divorce on the morning chat show she said: “I’m really open and honest with them, the younger ones don’t understand as much, but as far as with my two older ones, they know what’s going on.

“And you have to just really be there for them no matter what, even in this crazy life that we live. You just have to have a really open dialogue with your children.”

Kim opened up about the former couple’s dynamic and shared that she frequently speaks with her ex-husband.

She said: “Kanye and I have had conversations, we have to talk daily for the kids.

“So you know, I hate that it had to play out like that, but when it comes to family, I mean, Kanye and I will always be family.”

Despite the social media rants and abuse that her ex has directed on Kim’s partner Pete Davidson, she insists on avoiding the negativity for the kids’ sake.

She said: “At the end of the day, I just want my kids to be happy and healthy and think the world of their dad – and they do.”

Speaking to Vogue US, Kim opened up about how she’s learned to become her own “cheerleader” in the last few years, which has led to her recent decisions.

She said: “For so long, I did what made other people happy.

“And I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy,’ she told the publication. ‘And that feels really good.”
