Britain's Got Talent fans discover photo 'proof' of The Witch's true identity

Britain’s Got Talent fans are convinced they have “proof” of The Witch’s real identity.

The mysterious character appeared on last Sunday’s episode of the ITV variety competition.

Their nail-biting performance saw The Witch approach the judges with a bag of apples and offer them to three of the show’s four judges, excluding Simon Cowell.

As David Walliams and Alesha Dixon bit into their apples without incident, Amanda Holden was left terrified as an apple turned rotten in front of her and The Witch ‘grew an extra hand through their chest’.

The terrifying incident caused Amanda and Alesha to flee their seats and viewers now think they’ve cracked the magician behind the masked character.

Posting to Twitter, one BGT fan posted “proof” that The Witch was none other than BBC star, Pete Firman.

The 42-year-old magician is the star of BBC show The Magicians.

Tweeting a photo of The Witch next to a photo of Pete, the viewer made their case, superimposing one image over the other to show the striking similarities.

In a caption alongside their post, they wrote: “Hmmm,” alongside an apple emoji.

Quick to deny that he was the person behind The Witch costume was Pete himself.

In a reply, he denied all knowledge of the creepy act and responded: “Christ!

“I’m terrified and I have no idea what this relates to.”

Despite The Witch terrifying Alesha and Amanda, the masked ghoul still impressed the BGT judges and sailed through to the next round.

Having supposedly vanished from the stage at the end of the bizarre performance, the judges were left to deliberate The Witch’s fate without them.

While Alesha refused to sit at the insect-infested table, she still praised the performance and sent The Witch through alongside Simon and David.

She said: “I thought the act was actually brilliant.”

Amanda also said yes and added: “I’d quite like to see what else is going to happen in the future.”

Britain’s Got Talent airs Saturdays on ITV.
