Hollyoaks star James Redmond looked unrecognisable as he shared a snap on social media, alongside one of the stars of BBC programme The Outlaws.
The actor, who played Rory ‘Finn’ Finnigan on the Channel 4 soap between 1997-2002, looked completely different from his Hollyoaks days, as smiled for the camera alongside The Outlaws star and comedian Stephen Merchant.
James looked incredible in the photograph, sporting a beard and grey beard, while wearing a patterned shirt and jeans – in an amazing transformation from his days as Rory Finnigan, and as fresh-faced Abs Denham in Casualty.
He also shared new career news in the post, captioning the snap: “Season 2 of ‘THE OUTLAWS’ launches next month on BBC One and @bbciplayer in the UK and on @PrimeVideo internationally, later this year.
“Great script, stellar cast & lush locations.
“Over the moon to have been cast in an episode. Fair play to the multitalented @StephenMerchant.”
Fans went wild for the star’s look, with one saying: “You look great,” followed by love heart eye emojis.
A second said: “Great news mate and that’s one hell of a shirt,” while a third commented: “Damn that’s a sexy shirt!”
Fans and friends also rushed to congratulate James on landing a role in the popular BBC series, which stars huge Hollywood icons including Christopher Walken and Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson.
One fan said: “Well done. Delighted for you. Seething with envy.”
A second added: “I loved the first series, cannot wait for the second one,” while a third commented: “Blimey! That’s come round quick, looking forward to it!”
His former Hollyoaks cast mates also congratulated him on the news, with actor Paul Danan saying: “Jim that’s incredible! I’m so proud of you,” followed by a love heart emoji.
Since leaving Hollyoaks in 2002, James has taken on a number of roles including playing Abs Denham in BBC hospital drama Casualty from 2003-2008, before reprising the role in 2016.
However, fans were also delighted when the star made a return to Hollyoaks in the spin-off series Hollyoaks Later in 2013.
His character Rory Finnigan also returned to the village for Tony’s wedding to Diane during the soap’s 20th anniversary celebrations in 2015.
