Gail Porter has revealed she was “sucker punched” during an attack outside her home after trying to break up a fight between two women.
The presenter became entangled in a violent dispute that spilled into the street after hearing an argument outside her London flat on Saturday night.
One of the women struck her in the face while she was attempting to defuse the situation. The 51-year-old is said to be badly shaken and has a sore jaw.

Posting on her Twitter account, Edinburgh-born Gail said: “Please remind me when two women are fighting outside my home don’t go out and try and make peace. At home now with a punch to the jaw. Got to love London.”
She went on to add that she “tried to break it up” as she just wanted to “keep the peace”.
“Just ran out when two girls were killing each other in my street. Managed to break it up but one decided to hit me. Still standing.
“It was two girls off their heads. I just wanted to calm it down as it was upsetting the neighbours. Just wanted to keep the peace.”
Messages of support from friends and fans poured in for Gail, who has hosted TV shows including Children In Need, Fully Booked and Dead Famous.
One posted: “Take my hat off to you for even going out there to help. Most people would have ignored it.”
Radio presenter Janice Forsyth posted: “FFS. Hope you’re OK.”
Another said: “Glad you’re OK, jaw might be tender but you should be proud for doing right thing.”
Responding to several people who shared their shock at her post and added their wishes for her fast recovery, Gail revealed while it was all “sinking in” she “may stay a few days indoors” with the “blinds down”.
“Glad I jumped in as it was looking bad. A punch to me was better than what they were doing to each other.
“Totally fine. Bit shaken but all good. It’s all sinking in. Blinds down.. may stay a few days indoors.
“I’m Scottish. I can take a sore jaw. Just wish the world was a better place.”
She added later: :But…. Today is a beautiful day and it was a sucker punch. No harm done. I didn’t really feel it. Being Scottish and all. But have a wonderful afternoon xxx.”
