This Morning announces first celeb to appear on 2023 series of Dancing On Ice

This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby proudly told the nation who will be joining them on the Dancing On Ice ice rink for the next series.

Holly and Phil are the resident hosts for the show and the presenting pair named the willing celebrity on their chat show This Morning.

After they welcomed viewers to the show, Holly and Phil told fans that they could give them a clue as to who it would be, but simply showed them a mannequin wearing a red wig.

The duo laughed at the clue and Holly commented that it “didn’t give away much” before they moved on to the rest of the show.

As the clock struck 12pm, Willoughby and Schofield happily revealed that 2023’s first contestant will be none other than EastEnders’ Patsy Palmer.

Patsy said that she wanted to “get out of her comfort zone” and that she “wants to challenge herself”.

She also said that she would like to “skate to some songs she loves” but doubts that the Dancing On Ice crew will let her perform to some “banging house tunes”.

Love Island star Davide Sanclimenti has recently revealed that he turned down an opportunity to take part in the ice skating competition.

Patsy admitted she looked up to Torvill and Dean when she was younger

Davide, who won the dating show with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, spoke to The Sun about the offer.

The 28-year-old said: “They wanted me to do Dancing on Ice this year but I refused this time around. I have so much going on I can’t commit to something every day and when I do something I want to do it properly. Right now I just can’t focus on something like that, for the moment anyway, but in the future maybe I will.”

Davide hasn’t written off the idea entirely and a potential appearance on the ITV show may be on the cards, so stay tuned for that.

Since leaving the villa, Sanclimenti has signed a deal with fashion retailer boohooMAN and will be part of an upcoming ITV2 project with his partner Ekin-Su.

The dynamic duo, who were a clear fan favourite with the 2022 audience and took their crown with a staggering vote lead, will travel to Italy and Turkey to spend time with each other’s families.

They will also immerse themselves in each other’s culture and learn more about their partner as they spend more time around them.
