Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield missing from This Morning following boos at NTAs

This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were notably absent from their hosting duties during Monday’s (October 17) of the ITV show.

The duo typically present the daytime show on Monday to Thursday’s, with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary taking up the post of Friday’s.

The former X Factor presenter, 49, confirmed that Holly and Phil’s absence is will be extended over the week, revealing to fans that the loveable duo will be helming the show in the upcoming days.

Viewers were shocked when they tuned in and saw Monday’s regular hosts missing in action, taking to social media to discuss their absence.

“#Thismorning holly and Phill on holiday AGAIN?,” questioned one user.

Another penned: “So where are holly and phil its not half term thats next week are they just taking another week off or what!!!!”

“#ThisMorning So no Holly and Phil? Still upset over the booing etc. Face your critics,” speculated a third.

Someone else wrote: “Holly and Phil have only been back about a month and now they’re of again.. #Thismorning.”

Unable to resist a swipe to queue-gate, another viewer penned: “Well well well… they were queue-jumpers, now they’re show-dodgers. Is there no end to their talents? #ThisMorning.”

The presenters being missing from the show comes just days after they were booed as they took to the stage at the National Television Awards after This Morning won the Best Daytime Show award.

Controversy has swirled the duo, who have shared the sofa for 13 years, in recent months following accusations they skipped the 10 hour queue to see the Queen lying in state.

A petition was even created to axe the pair from This Morning which garnered more than 77,000 signatures.

This Morning still picked up the coveted award despite recent events, with Phil saying in his speech that the award means “so much to us every year, especially this year.”
