Strictly star says he will never return for All-Star series of 'repetitive' show

Strictly Come Dancing superstar HRVY, who made it to the final back in 2020, has said that he will not be returning to the show any time soon.

HRVY appeared on the BBC dancing competition with his partner Janette Manrara and the duo placed an impressive second spot.

Despite his immense success, during a Facebook Live interview with the Daily Star, the singer claimed that he isn’t planning on putting his dancing shoes back on.

When asked whether he would go back for an All-Stars series, Harvey replied: “I don’t know, I feel like I did my time and that was it. I feel like I gave it a go, I loved it, I don’t know. I’d like to go on and do a Christmas special one time.”

The singer was adamant and shook his head when asked whether he would ever go on any other reality shows like I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and went on to explain why.

He cringed at the thought and replied: “Not a bit of me, also I don’t like spiders and snakes so I wouldn’t do it!”

HRVY confirmed that he has previously been asked whether he would like to go on the show and once again – just for good measure – admitted that he won’t be making an appearance on the ITV competition.

HRVY went on to say that he is still in contact with his former dance partner Janette Manrara and that the cast are in a group chat together, but they don’t speak to each other often.

The Strictly star explained: “Everyone, about once a month, will say ‘happy birthday’ or whatever […] then silence. I don’t think anyone has left [the group chat] yet, but that will be funny if someone does.”

He also admitted: “I don’t have it on mute because no-one ever chats in it, but it’s there.”

The singer spoke about his time in training and branded the process “tiring, monotonous, repetitive” and “just exhausting”.

Harvey then hinted that he would consider dancing with Tess Daly as he had “previously met her” before he appeared on Strictly and said she was “lovely”.

He then gushed over her husband, Vernon Kay, saying: “He came into my dressing room, this six foot four beautiful statue of a man […] he said: ‘Oh, that was brilliant!’ They’re so lovely. He’s a beautiful man, so lovely. He’s great, she’s lucky, they’re both lucky!”
