Strictly's Molly Rainford forbidden from show fling by dad amid Carlos romance rumours

Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford has wowed viewers with her impressive dance moves after the Nova Jones star boogied her way to the top of the leaderboard last weekend.

And it appears as though the Britain’s Got Talent star is only on the rise as she continues to succeed with her professional dance Carlos Gu.

It’s fair to say one of her biggest supporters has been her famous footballing dad, Dave Rainford – who played for Chelmsford City – as well as the rest of her loving family.

But before the brunette beauty signed up for the hugely popular BBC dance competition, her sporting dad issued a stern warning which she was more than happy to obey.

Over the course of the two decades that the beloved ballroom show has been on the silver screen, the reality show has quickly gained a reputation for its devastating ‘curse’ which has led to affairs, split and tears.

Speaking to The Sun ahead of her first Strictly performance with fellow newbie Carlos, Molly’s parents Dave and Sarah have warned her to steer clear of potential romances, and to focus on dancing.

She told the publication: “I’m only 21, so I’m not looking for a relationship on Strictly. That’s not in the picture right now. I want to focus on my career.

“My parents don’t want me to be distracted or worrying about boys just yet. I’m single and don’t plan on changing it.”

But rumours suggest the actress may have gone back on her word as sources suggest the singer has the hots for pro dancer Nikita Kuzmin.

Last month, reports surfaced claiming Molly had been spotted looking very cosy with the Ukrainian-born dancer at the National Television Awards.

According to onlookers, the pair appeared to be inseparable at the star-studded after party before they left together at 1am after reportedly spending the evening ‘attached at the hip’.

A source told The Mirror: “They spent time together with some of their Strictly co-stars but they seemed to only have eyes for each other. They kept staring at each other and were being very tactile.

“When the night was over Nikita and Molly ordered Ubers separately but it appeared they were heading to the same place together as she was speaking to him about where they were going next.”

A second insider claimed to The Sun that the pair have indeed bonded over the past few months on the BBC show, saying: “It’s early days but they have grown close over the past month performing on Strictly and at the NTAs they had a chance to let their hair down.”

However, Molly has reassured viewers that there is nothing going on behind the scenes between herself and her hunky co-stars in an interview with MailOnline.

She told the outlet: “It’s so funny because everyone gets asked, ‘Oh, what’s the gossip? Who doesn’t get on?’ and I say, ‘Honestly, it’s everything they say about the Strictly family, we all get on really well’.

“I just think it’s so random. I love how people try to find it when it’s not happening, it’s quite funny. I think maybe because we get on so well, they mistake it for something else but it’s genuinely that everyone is really, really good friends.”

When she was grilled on the prospect of a backstage romance, the songstress insisted: “No! We’re a very boring series in that respect!”
