Strictly's Helen Skelton caught in fake tan fail as she admits 'how bad is that'

Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton admitted to slightly overdoing the fake tan after spotting herself on camera.

The Countryfile presenter and her professional partner Gorka Marquez performed the Jive for their first routine of the Strictly final and rushed upstairs to chat to Claudia Winkleman following the judges comments.

As the presenter asked: “You had so much fun doing it the first time round, what was it like doing it for the final?”

Helen responded: “Loads of fun, we were really grateful to get the chance to do this…,” before stopping in her tracks.

“I’ve just noticed my fake tan on my hand. How bad is that?,” the former Blue Peter quipped as she raised her hand for viewers.

Helen was met with huge laughs as her fake tan became visible on her hands, exclaiming shortly after: “That’s Strictly people!”

Giggling along, Claudia joked: “Claudia joked: “I’m not even going to show you mine!”

The blonde beauty wowed the judges with her first performance of the evening and was met with a standing ovation by Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse.

The head judge gushed: “I can tell you are so comfortable in your own skin. What an improvement.”

Echoing these thoughts, Anton Du Beke admitted how much he loved it before Craig Revel Horwood said she danced it “brilliantly.”

As Helen and Gorka waited for the judges scores, Claudia said: “You weren’t so worried about the dance, you were more worried about the hat. You were like, ‘Gorka please can we lose the hat?’”

Turning to her partner, the mum-of-three responded: “He said to me, you are so lovely and supportive but you do have a serious face. And he said, ‘Don’t lose the hat. It’s my favourite bit.’ So I kept the hat.”

Claudia continued: “I remember the first time you just wanted to look cool. Did you feel cool because you definitely looked it.”

With a slight hesitation, Helen responded: “Er yes, I think so,” before Gorka confirmed: “She is super cool.”

The duo were awarded 39 out of 40 for their dance, with Craig being the only judge not to award them with a 10.
