GMB's Ben Shephard left red-faced at Kate Garraway's awkward 'bladder' outburst

Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard was squirming when his co-host Kate Garraway mentioned how often their colleagues go to the toilet.

Ben and Kate were back at the helm of the ITV breakfast show on Thursday (January 19) morning, but it wasn’t long Kate brought up the rather unglamorous topic of toilets.

And it could have put poor Ben off of his morning coffee as he wasn’t expecting to hear about her bathroom business.

The pair were discussing a new study that revealed we need to play more up-tempo beats when trying to sleep.

Tipping Point host Ben said: “We are of course, as you can imagine, when we get up so early, obsessed by sleep in this studio.”

But Kate ruined things when she added: “Oh, yeah. It’s sleep and when to go to the loo that are the two obsessions.”

Ben looked uneasily at the camera and then off to the producers as he said: “I wasn’t going to bring your bladder into things…”

A defensive Kate hit back in suggesting Ben himself spent a lot of time at the loo when she said: “I don’t mean in the middle of the night. I know you get up a lot of times in the night for the loo, Ben Shephard.”

Ben burst out laughing before crying out: “What?!”

It comes after Tipping Point viewers worried about Ben’s health during the latest episode of the ITV quiz show.

Fans rushed to social media just minutes into the show, with some saying Ben’s puffy eyes was concerning.

One fan wrote: “When Ben’s got his puffy eyes the cameras stay off him a lot and only on him when he’s looking down.

“Otherwise he tips his head back and looks downwards to try and disguise them,” one fan said as they fretted Ben could have caught a cold.

Another added: “Ben looking a tad shattered.”

A third added: “#TippingPoint Ben does sound rough.”
