Jeremy Clarkson has recently ruffled some feathers after he claimed that school is “for smoking and having sex”.
The former Top Gear icon claimed that teenagers are under too much pressure to study for their exams and shared his thoughts on education.
63-year-old Clarkson famously flunked his A-levels and didn’t do any revision in the lead up to his exams.

Jeremy said: “I tell this story to kids, hoping they’ll realise that school is for smoking and sh***ing, not swotting. But they all have it in their heads that without four A*s and a first from Oxford, they’re going to spend their lives endlessly asking customers if they’ve ever been to a Harvester before.”
He continued: “This makes them all unbelievably stressy. If you then throw the teachers strike into the mix, you end up with what we must now call a ‘mental health epidemic’.”
“Exam results only really matter if you want to be a doctor or a lawyer and you need to be professionally qualified. I employed a chap on the farm last month and never looked at how he’d done at school or if he’d been to uni.”
Clarkson explained that he “took him on” just because he “liked his shoes”.
The Clarkson’s Farm star recently ended up in hot water with Countdown star Carol Vorderman after he called her “awfully shouty”.
In a recent column, titled Me thinks Carol doth protest too much, he branded Carol an “anti-Tory, anti-sleaze warrior” and called her out for using the term “disgusted” when she spoke about MPs.
Clarkson’s dig comes after she recently spoke at the Women and Equalities Select Committee, during which she touched upon women going through menopause.
Vorders also criticised Maria Caulfield, the Minister for Women’s Health, for “not bothering to turn up” and speak about such topics.
In his column, Jeremy commented on Carol’s “absolutely disgusted” comment.
He wrote: “That’s a bit strong because if you’re ‘absolutely disgusted’ by someone who disagrees with you about the menopause, then how do you describe your feelings towards a Russian soldier who’s just lobbed a hand grenade into a school?”
Vorderman called him out on social media for “having a go at a woman again,” before she informed him that she will be “disgusted” whether he likes it or not.
