Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan snaps back at Jane Moore after cheeky smoking dig

Coleen Nolan quickly snapped back at her Loose Women co-star Jane Moore during a heated debate about vaping.

The ITV regulars – also including Christine Lampard and Frankie Bridge – were discussing the worrying trend of young children are vaping and even taking time out of lessons to sneak off.

Jane, 61, was very much of the opinion that vaping was no better than smoking, and suggested that people didn’t smoke as much any more.

But she quickly turned her attention to Coleen, 58, and pointed out that she was still a smoker.

Coleen quickly spat back: “Alright.”

However it was clear she felt some guilt over her smoker status, as she pulled a worried face afterwards.

Coleen admitted that she had given up smoking in favour of vaping, as the general understanding is that it’s not quite as unhealthy.

But she confessed she’d returned to smoking cigarettes, telling viewers: “I vaped more!”

The Saturdays songstress Frankie, 34, told her co-stars she hated vaping and was horrified that her young boys knew what it was.

She said: “I’ve got friends that have never smoked before and now they’re vaping.

“You sit next to someone and they’re always doing it, it makes me shocked.”

The singer said her sons “think it’s normal” because people are “doing it inside, not sneaking out to do it secretly”.

Late last year, Coleen admitted she spent more than £10,000 each year just on smoking.

She was asked how much money she’d save if she quit, with Coleen saying it was “very expensive”.

The telly fave went on: “The cigarettes that I smoke up north – well I smoke them down south as well – to buy a pack up north is £15 a packet.

“To buy them in London it’s £20. I worked it out recently that if I stopped smoking, in a year I’d probably save between £12,000 to £14,000.”

Viewers tried to work out how many cigarettes that meant Coleen was smoking, with them suggesting she got through 40 to 50 a day, spending on average £35 a day.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV
