Love Island’s Olivia landed show while with Iain Stirling – but couldn’t tell him

Love Island’s Olivia Hawkins appeared on the show as part of the ninth series in 2023.

Prior to landing a gig on the ITV2 dating show, Olivia worked as an actress across various UK TV shows and films, including TV series Buffering which features Iain Stirling.

And it turns out, Iain was with Olivia when she got the call about the show – but he wasn’t aware.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Olivia said: “There was a thing I did called Buffering with Iain Stirling. That was so funny actually because I remember I was on set and getting a call from the [Love Island] producers.

“He was sat on the opposite side of the room. It was a really weird moment because I remember whispering to someone on the phone like ‘Iain is here with me’, and they were like that’s so weird.”

Buffering is a show created by Iain which saw Olivia take part before she went on the villa.

Among Buffering, Olivia also appeared in EastEnders, a previous Love Island intro and a James Bond film.

And while she hasn’t done too many acting gigs since coming out of the show, it’s not something she’s turning her back on.

Olivia added: “I’m focusing on social media at the moment, but I’m definitely going to get back into acting. I really want to dip into presenting as well. I’ve always wanted to do that.”

Sports presenting is at the top of Olivia’s list, particularly after her time working as a Ring Girl.

She said: “Maybe in the boxing world, that would be quite fun. I’d love to get back into boxing but on the presenting side.”

Olivia had a rollercoaster ride during her time in the villa after kicking off the show with a row with her fellow islander Zara.

But it was her romantic life that caught the most attention – and although Olivia is no longer with Maxwell after leaving the show with him, the star declared she had “no regrets”.
