TV reporter interrupted by his mum shouting ‘Hi, baby!’ during live broadcast

Some parents can’t resist the opportunity to embarrass their kids — no matter how grown up they are or what job they do.

That’s how a TV news reporter, from Colombus, Ohio, was left red-faced after his mum took her chance to say “hello” to him while he was at work — only he was reporting live at the time.

Myles Harris, 30, was in the middle of recording a segment for local news station ABC 6 when he spotted his mother’s car driving towards him.

“It’s my mom, hold on,” he said as he shrugged while looking up the street at her car, which was out of frame.

His 62-year-old mum, Sandi, pulled up behind him with her window rolled down as she yelled: “Hi, Baby!”

Harris became visibly mortified by the encounter as he introduced her to his cameraman, DeAngelo Byrd, who had kept the cameras rolling.

“I’m trying to work right now and you’re over there calling my phone,” Myles replied.

“This is DeAngelo, you can say hi.”

She said hi to him too before Myles said: “Don’t be holding up traffic because you’ve got cars behind you.”

But Myles took the embarrassing moment in his stride as he uploaded the clip to his Instagram account, where it has since gone viral, gaining more than 1.4million views.

In the caption, he wrote: “Yes, typical Sandi… Thanks for @deangelodbyrd who kept rolling.”

His fans seemed to love the clip, which has gained more than 170,000 likes, as they took to the comments to poke fun at the situation.
