Former Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole has confessed he had a major fallout with two of his celeb partners and couldn’t even be in a room with one of them.
The 47-year-old spoke openly about his experiences on the BBC show while discussing the alleged issues between Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice who are partnered together on this year’s series. He went on to state that getting a partner you don’t get along with is the “hardest” part.
Speaking on behalf of Sky Bingo, he said: “I’ve had that twice really strongly, where we couldn’t even be in the same studio together – it was awful. The hardest part about Strictly is if you don’t gel with your partner, you are in such trouble.”

The dance pro then went on to share how intense things can be. He added: “You spend such a lot of time together, it’s so intense, the training is intense, the time you spend together in the studio, sometimes for hours, sometimes eight hours, sometimes longer.”
The star went on to explain that if both the professional and the celeb get along then their routines will heighten as it “bolsters the relationship”. But if there is tension then it can be such “an uncomfortable feeling”.
The news comes after it was reported that actress Amanda had threatened to quit the show as she didn’t get along with Giovanni. Amanda was allegedly unhappy with Giovanni’s “militant” attitude in training.
The heated tension reportedly became a main talking point backstage at the BBC show. Despite this, the pair both put on a brave face during Saturday night’s programme.
A source told The Sun last week: “Giovanni is a hard taskmaster and takes the competition very, very seriously. Sometimes his manner is incredibly brusque and this can upset his partners.”
The insider also claimed that Amanda was looking forward to dancing with him but found his manner to be “difficult to handle”. The source also mentioned that the star was left feeling “shaken” by Giovanni’s approach.
Despite claims of a rift, both stars have taken to their social media platforms to share positive posts. Ahead of the first live show last week, Amanda posted a smiley photo of herself in rehearsals and wrote: “The smile you give your Pro partner at the end of the camera rehearsal when you know you are in safe and hugely talented hands.
“@giovannipernice ya legend. See you all tomorrow @bbcstrictly.”
