BBC Breakfast star Jon Kay fumed “thanks for nothing” as Carol Kirkwood’s latest weather updates was the opposite of what he wanted to hear.
The presenter, 53, resumed his spot on the red sofa alongside co-host Sally Nugent, 52, as the pair shared the top headlines with viewers on Tuesday (October 17). The TV duo were joined by meteorologist Carol, 61, who had no choice but to warn viewers of the storm that is set to hit the UK over the next few days.
She explained: “It’s the calm before the storm because we quite literally have a storm coming our way.” The weather reporter revealed that Storm Babet is on it’s way and will bring windy conditions and severe gales for some parts of the country.

On top of this, Carol confessed that people can expect torrential rain and said disruption is likely to occur in Scotland due to the heavy rainfall. And there’s no signs of the weather looking up as the week continues, with thundery showers all the way through until Thursday.
Carol signed off her report by saying: “We’re not done with all the rain even by Thursday, there’s more to come.” Jon couldn’t hide his pain as he exclaimed: “More to come? Oh dear me.” He added: “Carol thank you… for nothing.” Defending her friend, Sally chipped in: “It’s not actually her fault Jon.”
As the Scottish-born star could be heard giggling in the background, Jon insisted: “I know it’s not her fault but we need to blame somebody.” It comes after fans swooned over Sally as she “channelled Audrey Hepburn” in a figure-hugging black dress.
The newsreader attended a charity even in Paris over the weekend to mark the end of a cycle from London to the French capital. Sally shared a selection of snaps from her trip on Instagram, with the first photo showing the presenter sporting an off the shoulder ensemble complete with feathers across the top.
She captioned the post: “Thank you @rugbycenturionsclub @vickygosling_obe @ukinfrance for looking after me in Paris. Well done to everyone who cycled all the way there for @cancerfundforchildrenand @bhubesipride.”
Sally added: “And a special thank you to the miracle workers at @prettywhitedressbride who made my dress fit.” The Rugby Centurions Foundation event raised money for Cancer Fund For Children and Bhubesi Pride Foundation.
Fans couldn’t wait to compliment the BBC Breakfast star on her jaw-dropping look, with one writing: “Oh, look at you, you absolute stunner!” “The first picture is very Audrey Hepburn,” added a second. While another echoed: “Gorgeous dress, Sally, you look absolutely beautiful. Lovely legs.”
