Coleen Rooney has shared that her relationship with husband Wayne once hit the rocks amid allegations of infidelity, and that she told him: “I just can’t carry on with this.”
The pair were childhood sweethearts and they have been married since 2008. But over the years there have been reports of the football star and boozy nights out with other women.
According to The Sun, Coleen opens up in the new documentary Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, which follows the dramatic Wagatha Christie case that gripped the nation. In the programme, Coleen shared that it was tough after Wayne was caught driving another woman home.

The sports star drove Laura Simpson in her car after a night out in 2017. He said in the same documentary that “there was never any talk of anything happening, or going to happen” but Coleen said she was left “heartbroken” over the whole thing.
The star – who was on holiday with their children and her parents at the time – said it was “just sickening”. “I’ve had that feeling in my stomach a few times and I’d never wish anyone to feel that,” she said.
Coleen, 37, went on: “You do think, ‘Do I actually know this person?’ when things like that happen . . . you’re not the person I married and you’re not the person I want you to be.”
She said that Wayne “wanted it all to go back to normal” but she said that it “wasn’t as easy as that”. “I was still mad and I just didn’t know what the future was for us as a couple,” Coleen explained. “I said to him, ‘I just can’t carry on with this’.”
The Wagatha Christie saga saw Coleen post a message on Instagram accusing fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy (the wife of footy star Jamie) of leaking stories about her to the press. The posts sent shockwaves through the showbiz world, leading to countless stories.
Rebekah denied it and went on to sue Coleen for libel. However, she lost the case.
Wayne and Coleen have known each other since they were children and the pair, whose marriage is going strong, have four sons. They welcomed Kai in 2009, Klay followed in 2013, Kit was born in 2016 and they had Cass two years later in 2018.
