ITV Love Island’s Davide Sanclimenti eyes up I’m A Celeb stint and exposes biggest fear

Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti has eyed up a stint on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! to “push himself” to the limit.

Loyal fans of the ITV2 dating show will remember the Italian stallion, 28, won over the nation when he entered the villa last summer. It didn’t take long before he fell head over heels for fellow contestant Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, with fans gripped as they watched their rollercoaster play out on the show.

After six weeks together in the villa, the pair went on to steal the show after they were crowned the winners of the 9th series. The loved-up dup beat runner ups Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page and Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope for the coveted title.

Their dramatic love life didn’t end there, when the couple shockingly announced they would be separating just months after they landed in the UK. Luckily, the pair were able to work out their differences and got back together two months later.

Now, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the hunk has teased that he would “love” to do more TV in the future. When asked what show he would want to take part on in the future, the reality star confessed how he has always dreamed of joining the cast of I’m A Celeb.

He told us at the launch of his Sci-Mx launch party: “When I was in Italy, I was always watching shows like Survivor and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! My dream would be to be on an island alone and survive.”

When the star was asked what his biggest fear would be while competing on the show, he admitted how he has always struggled with bugs. Davide continued: “Any kind of insect, I can’t cope with that.

“I’m saying that I will do it to challenge myself, but I’m actually really scared. But that’s why I will do it because it’s challenging. Even as I’m speaking to you I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it because I’m so scared of insects.

“But at the same time, I know that it would be very entertaining because of this,” he insisted. I’m a Celebrity isn’t the only show the TV star is interested in joining, as he confessed that he would love to try out Dancing on Ice after watching his girlfriend Ekin-Su’s success on the show.

He added: “I will do any show that will challenge myself in different ways, so Dancing on Ice I would do because it will be challenging with the training and working on the show. I will also do Strictly Come Dancing for the same reason.”

When asked what attracted him to the challenging reality shows, the fitness guru confessed he struggled with his weight as a child. He explained: “When I was maybe 14, 15 I was classed as overweight and I wanted to lose some weight. I started running and skipping a lot and doing some sport like football, basketball and tennis, stuff like that.

“But then when I was around 18 or 19 I started going to the gym and since then I have been training and swimming. Fitness is everything to me and consistency is key, that’s the superpower to succeed in the gym.”
