Rochelle Humes was comforted by co-host Craig Doyle as she broke down in tears after speaking to a young boy named Harry Mills.
During Wednesday’s instalment (November 8) of This Morning, Rochelle was emotional as she spoke to nine-year-old Harry, who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer. The youngster, known as Hazza, appeared on the ITV show to discuss his fundraising campaign Young Lives vs Cancer.
Harry is currently undergoing an intense course of chemotherapy and is scheduled to have an operation next week. The schoolboy’s father, Andy, explained that he is most worried about losing his hair during the treatment.

In a show of support, Harry’s close friends shaved their heads to match his, telling the presenters: “We wanted to do it so Harry wouldn’t be alone”. Mum of three Rochelle was moved to tears by the gesture, telling the boys: “Oh my gosh, you’re giving me tears of joy.”

Overwhelmed with emotion, the 34-year-old added, “Sorry, it’s just a beautiful story about true friendship, and there is so much we can learn from it.” Craig, 52, was quick to support his co-host as he passed her tissues to wipe away her tears.
Andy opened up about how they learned of Harry’s cancer, admitting they thought the problem was originally to do with a football injury. The young lad took time off school after his knee became swollen, but Andy confirmed his son returned to playing sports as he “started to get better”.

But after Harry’s knee swelled up again, Andy knew something was wrong. He told the duo: “I wanted to take Harry to a specialist – so we saw him before a holiday and he did an X-ray and MRI and there’s a crack on the bone.” Andy said: “It looked like a tumour was bursting out of the leg and we were forwarded to the NHS.”
Rochelle said: “It’s unexpected… the most unexpected. “It was awful,” explained Andy. “Aggressive, rare cancer.” Speaking of his diagnosis, Harry said: “It was really scary. I didn’t know what I was going through or what was going on. I just felt really nervous and scared every time I went into a room that wasn’t a giant X-Ray.”

Harry and his friends have smashed their original target of £10,000, raising more than £30,000 in donations for their campaign. At the end of the interview, Rochelle and Craig told the lads they were adding more to their total.
Craig asked his co-star “What do you think £500 a shaved head?” Wiping away her tears, Rochelle responded: “Why not”, confirming This Morning would be donating £2,500 to the campaign.
