All eyes were on Shirley Ballas as she took centre stage on Wednesday’s (15 November) Strictly It Take’s Two show unveiling her incredible Rumba skills alongside professional dancer Neil Jones.
The British Latin American champion proved she’d still got the moves as she performed a number of jaw-dropping twists and turns on the spin off show, leaving fans in awe of her.
Twitter was ablaze with praise after the ballroom dancer Rumba’d away, showing the celebrities and their partners what she is looking for in terms of quality for this Saturday’s show.

One online gushy user wrote: “Love the Rumba and watching @ShirleyBallas #ittakestwo A-ma-zing,” as another agreed: “I could watch Shirley Rumba all night.”
A third person was not in agreement as they took to the popular platform with a difference of opinion, adding: “Does anyone care about the rumba I find it so boring #ItTakesTwo #Strictly.”
More recently, Shirley opened up about a harrowing comment she had received from a judge during her time as dancer and six weeks after she’d given birth.
Speaking on the Radio Times Podcast, the now TV judge who had previously won several Latin American championship titles, opened up about the remark that she still remembers to this day.
The 63-year-old, who refrained from dance competitions in the 1990s before, recalled: “I went back to dancing six weeks after having my baby. I got told: ‘I marked you third because I refuse to look at the stretch marks on your back. I find it revolting.'”
“I just accepted it, moved on and did what I needed to do – for me, it was character building,” added Shirley.
On the same podcast, Shirley spoke about joining the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel back in 2017. At the time, she had wrongly assumed she wouldn’t make the cut because of her age and lack of TV experience.
She commented: “I said, ‘Nobody is going to take a 57-year-old woman with no TV experience on a beautiful show like that.’ I did two auditions – one was diabolical, the other I smashed – and Strictly gave me the opportunity.”
Strictly It Takes Two airs weeknights on BBC Two at 6.30pm
