BBC The One Show guest Jason Momoa slammed for ‘height of rudeness’ to Nigella Lawson

Hollywood actor Jason Momoa has been criticised for his “rude attitude” towards TV chef Nigella Lawson after he turned his back on her while on The One Show.

The 44-year-old appeared on the BBC programme alongside Northern Irish actor James Nesbitt, 58, and Nigella, 63, on Monday evening (December 11). Talking about the release of his upcoming movie Aquaman 2, Jason appeared excited to discuss what’s in store for the sequel.

But viewers were left astonished when he seemingly left Nigella out of a certain conversation as he turned away from her on the sofa. Seeing the awkward interaction take place, fans were quick to comment on the situation as they branded him “rude” for his rather cold body language.

Heading over to X, formerly known as Twitter, viewers shared their grievances. One fan wrote: “Jason Momoa sat with his back to Nigella the whole time on the sofa…so rude.”

Another echoed: “Very rude body language by Jason Momoa, putting his back to Nigella.” Another fumed: “Jason Momoa is being quite ignorant at times, especially when James Nesbitt is talking as he has his back to Nigella Lawson.”

One viewer asked: “What’s Nigella done to upset Jason Momoa then?” Meanwhile another questioned: “Just switched on the telly. Why is Jason Momoa pointedly sitting with his back to Nigella Lawson??”

Jason’s new film is scheduled for release in the UK on December 20, 2023, and to promote the upcoming DC film Jason has made a number of media appearances.

Despite the anticipation to the sequel of the 2018 movie, it has unfortunately been plagued by controversy over the reduced role of actress Amber Heard. Fans of the film had questioned whether the questionable move was down to a petition launched by Johnny Depp supporters to axe Heard from the franchise completely which garnered over 4 million signatures on Change.org.

However Director James Wan publicly denied the claims. He also said that the DC sequel was always going to focus more on Aquaman and his half-brother Orm joining forces rather than Aquaman and Heard’s character Mera teaming up as they did in the first film.

Not long after the release of the first film, Heard became embroiled in a fierce defamation case with her ex husband Johnny Depp. Last year, a jury returned a verdict in which was in Depp’s favour and he was awarded 10.3 million dollars (£8.43 million) for damage to his reputation.
