Claire Sweeney has been eliminated from Dancing on Ice.
On Sunday night (February 4), the Coronation Street actress landed in the bottom two alongside Lou Sanders and Brendyn Hatfield. The judges came to an unanimous decision in saving Lou, crediting the comedian for having performed the best in the skate off.
That meant it was the end of the road for Claire and her professional partner Colin Grafton. During the show, the 52-year-old revealed she’d suffered an injury to her ribs in rehearsals.

She explained: “So I’ve had a niggling problem with my rib all week. The physio checked me out this morning and she said it’s a sprained rib.
“Because of the rib injury we’ve had to make a last minute change to the routine.” But she insisted: “I will definitely be on tonight, nothing’s stopping me.”
During Claire’s exit interview, presenter Holly Willoughby pointed out how amazing she’d done after suffering the nasty injury which led the star to thank the physio team for treating her.
Fans were divided after Claire’s first performance as she opted to skate and sing. At the beginning of the routine, the soap star sang the opening lines to the song ‘Big Spender by Cy Coleman.
For the rest of the performance she mimed along to her own vocals which were pre-recorded. A number of viewers fumed over the routine as one wrote on X: “I just don’t get when they do this, it’s not a singing competition.”
“Why is she singing, why give someone a production advantage, not fair,” penned a second. Another asked: “Is the singing a tactical move to distract from the skating.”
A fourth pointed out: “Thought this was Dancing on Ice NOT Singing on Ice.” Meanwhile others were impressed by the performance as one shared: “Claire Sweeney singing AND ice dancing to Big Spender? I’ve ascended!!!” Another admitted: “Claire looks and sounds incredible.”
