Hollyoaks star Anna Passey has shared her reaction to finding out that Dilly Harcourt was the estranged sister of her character Sienna Blake
There have been many twists and turns to this tale over the past year and the reason behind Dilly’s scheming to ruin Sienna’s life has finally come to light.
After being taken captive at Harcourt manor, Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) discovered Dilly’s birth certificate in the basement and after escaping reveals the truth to Sienna. During Wednesday’s (February 7) E4 episode, Sienna was left in disbelief as she got into a scrap with Dilly, who fell over a staircase and landed on top the piano.

Opening up on the jaw-dropping twist, Anna told Daily Star: “I was so shocked. I would never have predicted that story in a million years. When Hannah [Cheers, executive producer] rang and told me the twist she was going to put into the story, I listened quietly for about 45 minutes to all the details and then I just squealed.

“I just thought what an upgrade this is and for me to have another family member, because we get through them, it’s lovely to have this whole other avenue. Emma, who plays Dilly, is fantastic and I’ve always enjoyed working with her. In my mind in just thought it would run for this year and that would be that but now she’s in the fold with Liberty [Savage][ and Sienna and I just think it’s a really exciting time.”

“In the lead up to the big reveal we were saying that people will not see the twist coming. It’s a huge shock to Sienna because she thinks she knows where she’s at now. She think she knows her family tree and then she realises there’s another spawn of Patrick Blake.” The show has already revealed that Jeremy Sheffield will be reprising the role of Patrick Blake in coming weeks as he appears as a fragment of Dilly’s imagination.

Anna continued: “in the near future, Sienna learns how damaged Dilly is off the back on being abandoned by Patrick for Sienna so she’s pieces it altogether and she ends up being angry at her dad again. We have filmed these amazing scenes where we got Jeremy Sheffield back as Patrick and Dilly is really fighting the demons in that and trying to please him. We then start to see Sienna in a more caring, big sister role to Dilly so there’s a big, messy full circle.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights on E4 at 7pm followed by first-look episodes which can be streamed on Channel 4
