Remi hits back, revealing he will make a statement that directly contradicts Eden’s, leaving her speechless. They continue to clash over the situation as Cash throws his support behind Eden.
He tells Remi that it’s Eden’s story and she has just as much right to tell her story as he does. With that, Eden records her statement and hopes that Mickey can one day turn his life around.
Hearing this, Remi has a change of heart and says he’s not going to stand in her way. Elsewhere, Leah struggles living with Justin again, still afraid of hurting him.
She confides in Valerie, who offers to move in with Leah until she’s settled. Leah tells Justin, who seems unsure. Justin and Valerie take a walk on the beach to get to know each other better.
However, he accidentally triggers Valerie when he asks her how she ended up in the clinic. Later that evening, Valerie seems troubled as she walks along the beach alone.
She then gets a text from Theo, inviting her to his gig at Salt, where the two grow closer. The next day, Theo is distraught when he discovers he failed his TAFE course.
Valerie snaps at Theo’s reaction and storms out, leaving him confused. He finds Valerie at the beach and apologises for complaining when she has her brother on her mind, and she apologises for invalidating his feelings.
Theo pulls her into an embrace as they sit at the beach, and Kirby spots the pair. She asks Theo if they can chat, and he obliges, but things get heated.
Theo yells at Kirby before storming off. Valerie sees his distress and offers him something that will “help” – a pill. Theo hesitates but eventually swallows it.
Across the Bay, Tane walks in on Mali and Mackenzie’s argument, and she tells him about the affair with Levi. Tane’s response isn’t what Mackenzie wants to hear and she storms out.
He later apologises, admitting that he was projecting his marriage onto her. He confides in Mackenzie, confessing that he slept with Felicity right before returning to New Zealand.
Deep in thought, Tane looks like he’s about to announce something important, but Mackenzie gets a call from Levi and walks off to take it. Later, Tane tells Mali he’s moving back to New Zealand as there is nothing left for him in Summer Bay.
A shocked Mali decides to let Felicity know. She rocks up at Tane’s home, demanding to know why the news didn’t come from him.
They talk about the possibility of dating other people and Felicity reassures him that she’s ready to move on. With a renewed hope, Tane decides to stay – for now.
