Harry Potter’s Warwick Davis has had his fair share of heartache over the years
The devastated actor confirmed his wife Samantha had sadly passed away at the age of 53 on March 24. In an emotional tribute the actor said:”She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life.”
He added: “She had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes. Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series. No Idiot Abroad Series 3.”

The 54-year-old hailed Samantha as his “most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career”. But it would appear that this would have rang true in their personal life too.
The pair had suffered a number of tragedies as a married couple, having lost their first two children, Lloyd and George. They had been born with with a rare condition called pondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita.
Samantha had achondroplasia, a bone growth disorder that causes disproportionate dwarfism. And Warwick was born with a very rare condition called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita – with their children inheriting both conditions.
Unfortunately with their first two children inheriting both conditions, medics had warn it would prove fatal. They did however, later welcome Annabelle and Harrison, who did go on to survive.
During Warwick’s appearance on Bear’s Mission with Bear Grylls he spoke about his heartache. He said: “Prior to Annabelle and Harrison we had a baby boy, Lloyd, who inherited both our conditions… and that is something that proves fatal.”
Warwick continued: “It’s something that a baby won’t survive. But Lloyd he lived for survived for nine days, but yeah he was beautiful… but it was a tough time. And yeah, we had a stillborn too.”
Back in 2018, Warwick also opened up about his wife’s deteriorating health, this after she was raced to hospital with sepsis. The actor told The Sun that her health dramatically declined ahead of a family caravan holiday.
In the discussion with the publication, he revealed their horror, he said: “The next few hours were the longest of my life as I waited on the ward with our children in the empty space left by Sam’s hospital bed. I hoped it would not symbolise a future for us without her.”
