Jamie Theakston’s wife breaks silence after his cancer diagnosis in 5-word post

Jamie Theakston’s spouse opened up about his recent shock cancer diagnosis.

The much-loved Heart Radio host broke the news on Tuesday, revealing that his battle began after voice concerns led to surgery on his vocal cords. Fans had been voicing worry over changes in Jamie’s tone on the airwaves.

The operation unexpectedly unearthed Stage 1 Laryngeal cancer during a biopsy of an identified lesion.

Sophie Siegel, Theakston’s wife and acclaimed jewellery designer, expressed her support alongside re-sharing Amanda Holden’s heartfelt post bedecked with love hearts, saying: “My man. We got this.”

The couple, hitched since 2007, share a cosy family life with their two lads, Sidney and Kit, aged 16 and 15 respectively, reports the Mirror.

In a candid Instagram update, the broadcaster remarked: “As you know – I recently had an operation to remove a lesion from my vocal cords. The biopsy has identified this as stage 1 Laryngeal cancer. So – I have cancer – but cancer doesn’t have me. The prognosis is very positive and I’m hoping to be back with you in October.”

Continuing, Jamie shared his current focus: “Until then I’ve been told to give my voice a rest and leave you in the mostly capable hands of JK and Amanda. Big thanks to them and all the Global family who have been unbelievably supportive. Be thankful for this day, and when I next see you, I’ve got a great story to tell…” Rest assured, co-host JK has promised audiences that Jamie will rejoin the Breakfast crew soon with a “very positive” outlook.

Amanda Holden couldn’t hold back her emotions as she hailed Jamie Theakston a “King” on air, amid the reveal of his cancer diagnosis. “Even though it’s been identified as cancer, it is not all bad news,” Amanda assured listeners.

Co-host JK chimed in with words of support, saying: “Jamie has an amazing team that are going to get this sorted. He’s going to be OK, he’s hoping to be back with us very soon,” also mentioning Jamie’s history of being a beacon of positivity for the audience.

“He’s told us to hold the fort and that the show must go on.”

Amanda added. Fans of the Heart Radio Breakfast Show wasted no time taking to social media to express their heartfelt wishes for Jamie.

With love pouring in from abroad, one fan wrote from Spain: “Sending all the best wishes from Spain, the medicine and experts are incredible currently, you have the power, Jamie.”

Gushing messages continued as another shared: “What a lovely family you all are at Heart and I’m sure Jamie will be feeling the love and positivity radiating out to him this morning! ! ” A supportive note from yet another listener said: “Come on Jamie you have got this, wishing you to get well soon and hope you have a speedy recovery.”

Even celeb pals sent their best, with Emma Bunton of Spice Girls fame and a host on Heart’s Feel Good Weekend sending love on Jamies post, stating: “Love you to bits.”

Capital Breakfast’s Sian Welby also rallied behind him, expressing: “If anyone can get through this it’s you. Sending all the positive vibes your way.”

Just earlier this month, Jamie broke the news to his fans that he’d be stepping back from the mic for a bit after having a vocal cord operation. Dishing out all on social media, he penned: “Sooo a few of you listeners have noticed my voice hasn’t sounded right these past few weeks I’ve got you to thank… Got it checked Doctors found a lesion on my vocal chords which I’ve had removed this weekend thanks for all the kind messages should be back on my feet soon in the meantime…” and chucked in a cheeky zipped-mouth emoji for good measure.
