Tommy Fury reveals moment Molly-Mae Hague thought he was cheating before split

Molly-Mae Hague believed Tommy Fury was cheating on her before he proposed.

The pair met on Love Island villa back in 2019 and went from strength to strength before they split earlier this year. After they welcomed their daughter Bambi into the world, Tommy , 25, was ready to propose to Molly in Ibiza.

But things backfired when his shifty behaviour and ‘excuses’ led her to believe he was “messaging another girl”. Boxer Tommy’s proposal plans could have been derailed completely, he explained in an extract from his new memoir.

Tommy admitted surprising Molly-Mae was a difficult task, so the proposal wasn’t going to be easy. Tommy invented a luxury party, hosted by fashion company Net-a-Porter and, supposedly, full of celebs, reports the Mirror.

Molly-Mae’s manager Fran was in on Tommy’s plan. She told Molly her and Tommy were on the guest list and expected to attend the event. Tommy even wrote a note welcoming the couple in their hotel, signing it off as a representative from Net-a-Porter.

Once the pair were ready to leave their hotel, a car came to pick them up. And the driver was also on board with the boxer’s elaborate proposal trick.

Unfortunately, things did not go to plan. Tommy wrote: “In the car, Molly asked if she could have a look at the pictures we had taken on my phone. I immediately panicked because if she went on to my camera roll, she would see photos I had just been sent of the setting of our proposal.”

“I made a lame excuse about being in the middle of a texting debate with my dad about a fight contract.” But due to his suspicious behaviour, Molly begun to think he was being unfaithful, so the pair started arguing.

“She thought I might be messaging another girl. I was fuming. I couldn’t believe she would think that, but I also reminded myself that I was acting shifty, so it was fair enough. Ten minutes before I was due to propose, we were in the middle of this blazing row.”

The driver pressed on with the plan and drove them to a cliff top at the back of their hotel, where Tommy got down on one knee. But by jumping out of the car and shutting the door to stop Molly-Mae from following him, Molly thought he had abandoned her.

It comes months after Molly-Mae announced she and Tommy had gone their separate ways in an explosive statement. At the time it was reported it was because Tommy had cheated but in his first interview since the split, he has denied this was the case.

Tommy has since expressed his intentions to set the record straight ahead of his autobiography which references the separation coming out this week. He said: “All the allegations that were made of me recently are completely false. The truth will come out in time and when it does, I think a lot of people might regret their actions and unkind words. The whole world will I reckon.”
