Wayne Rooney ‘worried’ about wife Coleen going on I’m A Celeb for one reason

Coleen Rooney’s hubby Wayne is apparently a bit worried after she reportedly signed up for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

TV star and WAG Coleen is thought to have inked a megabucks deal to jet Down Under to be a camper when Ant and Dec’s reality show returns soon. She would be a big signing for ITV, as the channel has reportedly long hoped to sign her up for a jungle stint.

But a source has claimed that Coleen’s new TV spot has left footy ace Wayne wondering whether he is going to be gossiped about around the campfire. The couple were childhood sweethearts and have been together for more than 20 years and share four sons. However, while their marriage is going strong, in the past there were rumours about Wayne cheating.

The source told OK! magazine: “Wayne is a little worried about what she will say about their marriage, and whether all his past misbehaviour gets brought up.”

The insider added that Coleen could also talk about her Wagatha Christie drama with Rebekah Vardy, which saw Coleen accuse Rebekah of leaking stories from her Instagram account to the papers. “Coleen is very open and honest – if she bonds with someone in there, she will talk about everything she’s been through, including stuff with Wayne and Becky,” they added.

It was reported at the weekend that Coleen is going into the jungle and that she has landed the reality show’s biggest ever fee, apparently topping the eye-watering £1.5million that I’m A Celebrity is thought to have splashed out on Nigel Farage.

“I’m A Celeb bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board,” a source told The Sun on Sunday.

Other names rumoured for the camp this year include N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos, Love Island’s Tommy Fury and Loose Women’s Jane Moore. Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, who is rumoured to have been set for the jungle last year before hurting his knee, is thought to be in the mix too.

There has also been talk about Phillip Schofield signing up, which was reportedly triggered after he was spotted out with host Dec. However, the former This Morning host poured cold water on the gossip during Channel 5’s Cast Away, his own jungle series.

Cast Away marked Schofe’s telly return after his 2023 scandal, in which he departed This Morning and admitted to having what he said was an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague at ITV. During the show he brought up the whisperings about him doing I’m A Celebrity, but said: “I am apparently 4/1 to do the other jungle programme. Although my best mates host it (Ant and Dec), there are some channels you just won’t work for. There are just some people you won’t work for.”
