Georgia Jones, wife of McFly’s Danny Jones, has opened up about her relatable parenting struggle that makes her feel “terrible” – and she’s sure many mums and dads will relate
McFly’s Danny Jones’ partner Georgia has opened up her time away from her famous husband after news broke of him allegedly sharing a ‘drunken kiss’ with Maura Higgins.
Danny has been married to Georgia for 11 years but has caused a stir after The Sun leaked a video of them sharing a ‘kiss’ at Universal’s BRITs after party. The influencer, who he shares his seven-year-old son Cooper with has since bared all on how juggling the hustle with mum duties is no small feat, and how nicking some time off lately left her feeling all chirpy again.
Chatting away on her podcast Mum’s The Word alongside Kelsey Parker, the 38-year-old shared: “I will hold my hands up here and make all the other parents out there feel a lot better by saying, sometimes I am absolutely not in the moment and I do beat myself up about it.”
Getting into when she zones out, Georgia admitted: “And it is very poor parenting on my part because sometimes what will happen is… Do you know when I notice it?
“When Coop is in the bath. Coop is sat in the bath and I’ll just sit there scrolling on my phone while he’s in the bath. And I’m doing it and then all of a sudden I go, what am I doing?” She recognised these times as prime for bonding, but confessed work can sometimes barge in.
“There are times when I don’t even realise I’m doing it, and then there are other times where I’m like, oh God, I feel terrible,” she continued. “Like, it’s a bit s*** because I don’t want Cooper to remember his childhood with me just being on my phone all the time.”
The down-to-earth podcast queen found her smile back after a blissful Cornish getaway with Cooper whilst Danny was out on tour, reports the Manchester Evening News.
She revealed that she devoted all her attention to their child after work was done, gushing: “I came away from it feeling so happy and, like, content, so I can only imagine what Cooper must have felt like.”
Danny and Georgia, who got hitched in 2014, showcased their unbreakable connection during his stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! last year. The nation’s hearts melted when Georgia and Cooper made a surprise visit to Danny in the jungle – an encounter that was pure emotion.
Clutching Cooper, Danny confessed: “Honestly this place is an amazing place, even though it’s been challenging. It just makes you realise how much you love people and you put stuff into perspective.” Not long after, Danny was declared King of the Jungle, to the delight of fans.
