Angellica Bell has launched herself straight into the Celebrity Big Brother house, but as Daily Star finds, she has a lot of great things waiting for her on the outside
Angellica Bell has officially taken up residence in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Former CBBC presenter Angellica, 49, was one of the 13 celebrity housemates to waltz into the ITV reality titan on Monday (April 7), bidding farewell to her co-star husband as she did so. However, the journey to the show has not been easy for the host after she was dealt a crushing blow just hours before she headed into the house.
But while the star gets all settled into her new life under constant surveillance, fans have been doing their research into the presenter’s life and found a host of surprising parts in her life. From the joyous highs of marriage to the crippling fear of money woes, Angellica has been through it all.
So, as Angellica gears up for what could be three weeks of chaos in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Daily Star looks into the presenter’s life.
Doting co-star husband
Angellica is happily married to fellow television presenter Michael Underwood. Both aged 49, the pair first met while filming children’s shows for CBBC, before Michael went on to work for CITV.
The couple dated for some time, before eventually getting engaged. While Angellica and Michael had planned for a small and intimate wedding in a Tuscan village, the couple opted instead for spontaneous getaway ceremony in New York back in 2010 – with only the happy couple in attendance.
The pair have since welcomed two children into the world together, with Angellica and Michael admitting they are strict but fair parents. The couple are now loved-up with their kids in a semi-detached property in the Kingston-upon-Thames area of southwest London.
Beauty and heartbreak
When Angellica was revealed to be taking part in Celebrity Big Brother, fans of the show were left in shock at how beautiful the presenter looked. Several viewers admitted that they were in disbelief about the host’s natural beauty and flocked to their social media to make their thoughts known.
One user penned: “Angellica has literally not aged in 25 years.” A second viewer agreed, writing: “Angellica Bell literally not aging a single day in the last 25 years, she is a youthful queen.”
However, it has not always been plain sailing for former presenter Angellica, who broke down in tears whilst chatting to Fleur East on her Hits Radio show. She explained that she was grateful to Fleur for giving her the inspiration to go for a job at the station, and the conversation left her in tears.
“I remember meeting Stormzy and he said to me, ‘Thank you’, and it’s all those things that we say to each other,” she sobbed. “Thank you, you have helped me. Your optics are inspiring.”
Financial issues
However, despite Angellica and Michael’s wealth thanks to their TV stints, the pair admitted that they were at times feeling the pinch. In an interview with the Sunday Times, Angellica even went as far as to say she was not someone who was rich anymore.
“I don’t feel wealthy now,” she explained, “I still have to look at what I’ve got coming in each month. I’m in the middle of a renovation and trying to do the next part.
“I look at ways to save, at whether there’s a cheaper option,” the star continued. “I don’t feel wealthy but I know I’m fortunate, and I have more than I ever though I’d have.”
Now working as a freelancer, Angellica admitted the sporadic work opportunities can make her worry about making ends meet. However, describing herself as a “grafter”, she said she would always find a way to make money.
