Actor Johnny Depp looks very different after he recently landed a role in an upcoming film that marks the star’s comeback to the silver screen after years of very public personal and legal issues
Johnny Depp is barely recognisable after a recent makeover.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star has landed a role in an upcoming movie titled Day Drinker and Lionsgate took to social media to share a first look at his character.
Depp can be seen wearing a navy blue suit with a pale blue shirt while leaning against a bar. The actor held a scotch glass in his hand, but fans were distracted by his new appearance.
Johnny sported long grey hair and a matching bushy beard, with a moustache to top off his new vibe.
The actor’s natural eye colour is hazel, but for this role Johnny appears to be wearing bright blue contact lenses. He looked extremely tanned and accessorised with a simple gold ring on his pinkie finger.
Their caption read: “The first look at #DayDrinkerMovie. Starring Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Madelyn Cline, Manu Rios, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto and Anika Boyle – coming soon.”
Down in the comment section, fans couldn’t help but compliment the actor on his new look. One person said he “looks so good with grey hair” and signed off with a heart-eyed emoji.
Another wrote: “WTF YOU LOOK SO GOOD,” while a third person said: “This man age is like fine wine.”
“Did not realise that was Johnny Depp till I read the caption,” gushed another fan.
Someone else’s comment read: “Looking good,” while others “welcomed him back” to Hollywood.
Johnny’s role in Day Drinker is being branded his return to the big screen after many years of personal and legal issues made public.
The upcoming film’s premise reads: “A cruise ship bartender meets a mysterious day drinker, only for them to be unexpectedly tangled in a criminal underbelly.”
It was announced back in October 2024 that the film was in development and Sydney Sweeney was previously reported as part of the cast, but this was not confirmed by Lionsgate’s caption.
